Scholarships
The New Zealand Fire Brigades' Institute Scholarship provides the opportunity for the recipient to travel and study. Study could include courses recognised at a university or training establishment, or a secondment at an overseas fire and emergency service to gain first-hand experience of an initiative that is unique or project that might well be applicable in New Zealand.
The New Zealand Fire Brigades' Institute scholarship was established to further the development
of members by providing the opportunity to undertake research or study in a field of interest
that will have benefits not only to the recipient, but to those who work in fire and emergency
related sectors.

New Zealand Fire Brigades' Institute Scholarship:
There are currently no set dates or formats for scholarship applications, and should a candidate be interested in applying, they should formulate a detailed plan on what the scholarship would look like, how long the study would take, what it would cost and how the results would be presented to benefit the applicant and the New Zealand firefighting community.
This should be presented and discussed with the NZFBI Council where advice can be provided to fine tune the application before it can be fully considered.
NZFBI reserves the right to accept or decline any application, and may impose conditions on how the scholarship is paid. If a candidate fails to meet the defined outputs or timelines as per the scholarship agreement, they may be required to pay back any funds that have been received and/or they may not receive any further payments or reimbursements until such goals have been successfully completed.
Applicants must belong to a NZFBI member brigade.
